Russell Rains, Program Director, MBA in Digital Media Management at St. Edward’s University, will lead the discussion about how musicians can effectively utilize online promotional tools.  Social media, interactive marketing, Web 2.0 – these terms may have different meanings, but all share the common thread of utilizing the Internet as a platform.  Artists can utilize this tool to not only create an amazing amount of exposure for their music, but also to increase income.

Wading through the sea of available tools is time consuming, and integrating the appropriate promotional tactics into an artist’s online strategy takes hard work.  The topics discussed will include online PR, social networking, effective Web site content, blogs, fan-management systems, and new online marketing technologies.

We're sorry, but this session is already FULL.

Monday, August 4            NEW!  2nd SESSION ADDED!
7:00 pm

Instructors:  Jerry Tubb & Nick Landis

You've completed the tracks of your upcoming album and you're ready to unveil the new creation to a receptive audience.  There is one last step you have to consider to make your sound really shine: Mastering.  Join AMF at Terra Nova Digital Audio with special guests, Jerry Tubb and Nick Landis, for a studio tour and discussion about this final post-production step and why it's an important finishing touch for any recording project. Learn about mixing with mastering in mind, gear and software used, mastering for different end-use formats, and digital, analog, and 5.1 surround-sound mastering plus much more.

Jerry Tubb is a lifetime musician from Levelland, Texas. He and his wife Diane are the co-owners of Terra Nova which they started in 1990. Jerry's mastering skills are well known throughout the US, Europe and Australia. "Mastered by Jerry Tubb at Terra Nova Digital Audio" is a credit that artists want on their albums.  Jerry has been recording, performing, and teaching since his early teens. He was Director of the Commercial Music Department at Midland College for several years prior to opening Terra Nova. He has won many academic awards and as a jazz guitar performer has played with numerous famous musicians.

Born in Ohio, Nick Landis moved to Texas as a small child, and says, "I got to Texas as fast as I could!" He's been involved with music most of his life and plays piano, sax, guitar, and bass. As a student at North Texas (2001-2003), he was the live sound engineer for the North Texas One O'Clock Lab Band. He has an excellent audio engineering background both academically and professionally; mastering comes naturally with his "ears" and musical talent. Nick is always ready to visit with clients and engineers offering technical assistance and advice.
