Downloading for Dollars: Getting your Tunes on iTunes & Beyond November 15th, 2004 Red Eyed Fly, 715 Red River
Summary
The panel examined the new online economy: working with digital aggregators, for-fee digital downloading, online streaming radio royalties, online retail, ringtones, and how the digital world has leveled the playing field for independent artists. We discussed how to get your music to iTunes, MusicNet, MSN, and many others. Then, we covered how to make the most of it! As always, this Boot Camp was free to the public and open to everyone. The panel gave a step-by-step tutorial on the various ways in which musicians can transmit music for free or for a fee using the internet. Numerous online access points are available to artists at a variety of costs and we highlighted the safeguarding of legal rights protection in each instance.
