The Austin Music Foundation will host its 6th seminar in the Music Industry Bootcamp seminar series on Monday, September 30th at 6pm at the Hard Rock Cafe. The topic is Mailbox Money: Performing Rights Organizations and the New Media. Whether you're an independent artist who's new to this topic or a veteran, come learn what you need to know to make sure you're collecting all the money you can! Learn about how writer/publisher Performing Rights Organizations (ASCAP, BMI, SESAC) work for you, and also learn about Sound Exchange - a new organization that collects a whole new category of internet-related royalties for YOU!
A panel of local artists and national speakers will discuss what you need to know about:
- collecting royalty payments for publishing and sound recording copyrights
- making sure all of your rights are protected, even if you are an independent artist
- learning how other local artists get the biggest bang for the buck out of their music
- particular emphasis on a new category of royalty rights for webcasting and other digital transmissions
Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions and interact individually with the panelists during the Round Table Workshop. As always, this seminar is FREE FOR MUSICIANS AND INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS!
