03.19.02 - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Austin Music Foundation announces the launch of its monthly educational series, the Music Industry Boot Camp from 6-8 pm on March 25, 2002 at the Steamboat. "We've created the Boot Camp as a very practical, hands on forum to help musicians learn the business side of the industry from the experts. We're covering topics such as negotiating contracts, securing publishing rights, getting a record deal, attracting a manager, and many more, said Nikki Rowling, Program Director for AMF."
The March Boot Camp Seminar covers the topic "Managing Taxes for Your Band". Layne Lauritzen, CPA will be providing us with useful information and Q&A on this topic just in time for the tax return due date. Austin musicians check out the free educational seminar at the Steamboat's new location at 110 E. Riverside and learn how to file your taxes. Admittance is free for musicians and music industry professionals.
