The birthday celebration, which has become known as the unofficial kick-off to the South by Southwest Music Conference features live performances from members of Asleep at the Wheel, Vallejo, Ian Moore, Missy Higgins, Bob Schneider, Charlie Robison, Ruthie Foster, as well as surprise cameos. The invitation-only event will take place on March 15 at 7 p.m. at La Zona Rosa in Austin, Texas. In addition to a star-studded lineup of artists, the evening features a silent auction with autographed Willie Nelson memorabilia, a guitar signed by Pat Green, a luxurious day spa package, Austin City Limits Music Festival passes, a spot in a star-studded charity golf tournament and more. Proceeds from the auction benefit AMF and its signature programs - Austin Music Incubator, Music Industry Boot Camp and Austin Music Spotlight Series. "For more than three years, AMF has made a significant impact throughout the Austin music scene, helping hundreds of artists through educational programs and financial support," said Ray Benson. "I'm delighted that with this event I can publicly share my support of AMF and do my part to raise awareness and funds for this incredible organization." Ray Benson's Birthday Bash serves as the primary event-based fundraiser for AMF. Through generous support from attendees at Ray Benson's Birthday Bash, AMF is able to continue and expand upon its support of Austin's music community. AMF representatives will be on hand throughout the night to answer any questions, and help facilitate the donation process.
