Chip Bray, Treasurer
It seems that Mr. Bray left his heart in Austin. He graduated from the University of Texas as an economics student in the early eighties. Almost ten years later he returned, after working as an energy banker in San Antonio and in Specialized Lending and National Accounts divisions of a Cleveland-based bank. In 1991, he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Credit Officer of Liberty National Bank, now Wells Fargo Bank of Austin. Shortly thereafter he was Executive Vice President and Chief Lending Officer of Liberty Bank, one of Austin’s largest locally-based full service banks, which was acquired by Prosperity Bank in 2004. Now, Mr. Bray serves in the well-earned position of President of the Congress Banking Center for the $8.9 billion Houston, Texas-based financial services company. In addition to his volunteering at AMF, is an active volunteer with Meals on Wheels and More.

Suzanne Quinn, Secretary
Suzanne’s career has focused on start-up business ventures. Suzanne was on the staff of the SXSW Film Festival to start up their marketing, sales and sponsorship program. She oversaw a national advertising and sponsorship program for the festival and launched the SXSW Film trade show. After four years, Ms. Quinn left SXSW to join the staff of the Austin Film Society (AFS) as Studio Director to create Austin Studios, a 20-acre film production facility.
Ms. Quinn was responsible for financial management and reporting, marketing, operations and contract negotiations with productions. Austin Studios was formed through a public/private partnership between the City of Austin and AFS. During Quinn’s tenure, the nonprofit venture worked with more than 60 film and video productions, which resulted in over $650 million in economic impact to Austin and created more than 3,500 jobs in the industry. Suzanne’s background with independent art and operations is a perfect match for an organization wanting to take things to the next level.

Colin Kendrick, Co-Founder

Mr. Kendrick is a co-founder of Austin Music Foundation and served as its Executive Director between 2001 and 2003. He currently works within Dell’s Global Procurement department and before that with Apple Computer’s AppleCare Business Development team. During the height of the dot-com frenzy, he served as an executive officer and early member of SchoolPeople where he participated in business development and fundraising efforts that landed the company in the Austin Technology Incubator. Prior to SchoolPeople, Colin was a consultant for high net-worth individuals through PriceWaterhouseCoopers. His work there included portfolio management and tax compliance for individuals and family foundations.
During his undergraduate studies, Mr. Kendrick worked two seasons at KLRU as an audio intern for the nationally-televised music program Austin City Limits. His experiences there and his graduate studies on sustainable funding for non-profits served as the catalyst for the concepts underlying the Austin Music Foundation. Mr. Kendrick holds an M.B.A. with a dual concentration in finance and accounting and a B.S. in radio, television, and film with a concentration in audio engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.

Scott Garber
Scott Garber has lived as a musician first and foremost. He began his career playing jazz and in the early eighties was drafted into the indie band Giant Sand. He spent 15 years touring the globe with some of the world’s top acts including Alejandro Escovedo, Jon Dee Graham, Charlie Sexton, Storyville, Indigo Girls and many more. His musical travels allowed him to witness first hand the changes in the recording industry: from indie artist on vinyl, to sideman on CD, to the digital revolution, 360 deals, radio tag, and the free-download-song code world we live in today. As most career musicians must, Scott recognized the vulnerability of the freelance lifestyle and in 2000 went to work for Apple, Inc., eventually transitioning into iTunes marketing operations. He is now an international product manager in the billion-dollar iTunes retail group concentrating on Asia Pac. He continues to play and record on a regular basis and still sees many of the opportunities and issues that face musicians trying to stay afloat and creative.
