Incubator Application Part 1

You will complete Part 1 of the Incubator Application online by clicking on the button below. The application will include 3 essay questions that must be answered in NO MORE THAN 500 words per essay question (approximately 1 typed, single-spaced page). For your convenience, we have also provided these essay questions below so that you can think about your answers ahead of time. You can either type these directly into the online application or you can write them in a word processor of your choice (eg. Microsoft Word) and then cut and paste them into the space provided in the application.

With the exception of the essays, the online application should take approximately 20 - 30 minutes to complete.

ONCE YOU BEGIN THE APPLICATION, YOU MUST COMPLETE IT, INCLUDING ESSAY QUESTIONS, IN ITS ENTIRETY. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO QUIT AND RETURN TO IT LATER. APPLICATION IS DUE BEFORE THE DEADLINE OF 11:59pm CST on January 31st, 2003.

Here are the essay questions. Again, no more than 500 words per question.

  1. Given that the award includes top-level mentors, a recording budget and marketing assistance, how would you use the Incubator to advance your career? What are your music career goals in the next 12 months? The next 24 months?

  2. Describe any assistance or mentoring you have received in terms of creative and/or professional development and how it has affected you as a musical artist.

  3. Why should the Incubator commit funds to you? This is your chance to tell us anything else about you that we should consider in reviewing your application.
