AMF Bio: Don Harvey

Don Harvey�s professional career spans 25 years and includes experience as a touring & recording musician, music business entrepreneur, producer, talent scout, publicist, writer and editor. He co-owned the Austin Rehearsal Complex (the ARC), which served as a hub for Texas music, for 10 years. In 1995, Don co-founded the SIMS Foundation (Services Invested in Musician Support), to help area musicians gain access to affordable mental health services. He served as Interim Executive Director of SIMS until March of 2003. Don has worked as a talent scout (with music publisher Alan Melina) and artist manager (Ian McLagan, �Scrappy� Jud Newcomb and Rob Laufer). He served as Music/Program Director for the Austin Music Network (AMN Channel 15), Director of Content for live music web-casting site clubcastlive.com and National Editor for CD Reviews at Ticketmaster Online-Citysearch.com / LiveDaily.com. Don served on the Austin Music Commission and the board of the Austin Chapter of the Texas Music Association. As a percussionist of note, Don has toured and recorded with artists such as Billy Bragg, Martha Davis (the Motels), Steve Earle, Joe Ely, Tonio K, Ian McLagan and Charlie Sexton.
