Austin Music Foundation is excited to announce a new partnership with Independence Brewing for the brewery’s popular First Saturday events

Each month, Independence Brewing Co. will work with AMF to curate a live music showcase lineup featuring two opening acts followed by a headliner playing from 6-7pm, during which time a portion of sales from the tap room will directly benefit the Austin Music Foundation. The long-running popular monthly event continues to offer a full lineup of live music, local food vendors, brewery tours, and of course, a multitude of quality craft beers. The events are FREE, but wristbands are available for a $10 purchase, which will get you three beers (includes any 16oz house favorites and 10 oz of beers that are 8% abv or over. Does not include limited release beers).

Join us on Saturday, May 6 for our next event in the series. The brewery doors will open at 1pm, with music starting at 4pm. This event is free and open to the public. All ages welcome, but must be 21+ to drink. Come out, have a cold one, and enjoy some of Austin’s best local music while supporting AMF! To make this day even better, Austin Flea will be onsite starting at 1:00 pm, (perfect time to grab a Mother’s Day present)!

Here’s the low-down for May 6th-

1PM: Brewery doors open with Austin Flea booth on site

4PM: Performance by Bottlecap Mountain

5PM: Performance by Pierson Saxon

6PM: Headlining performance by Skye Strickler

Who is Skye?
Austin’s emerging pop artist Skye Strickler is breaking barriers with his cross-pop, genre-bending songwriting skills. His EP “DNA” has won him the John Lennon Songwriting Contest twice this year, and Austin.com & The Orange County Register both called him a “rising star” last month. Now named Austin Music Foundation’s May Artist of the Month, he’s stripping down his powerhouse songs to the bare minimum. This May 6th, hear the anthems the way they were written – live and uninhibited.
