WORLD’S LARGEST DRUM & PERCUSSION EVENT HITS AUSTIN!

The Percussive Arts Society announces PASIC 2012 (Percussive Arts Society International Convention) will be held in Austin,Texas from October 31 - November 4, 2012. With more than 120 events scheduled over four days, PASIC is a drummer & percussionist’s playground for all genres and styles of percussion representing some of today’s eminent, cutting-edge artists and educators in their field.
PASIC 2012 drumset clinics, master classes, and concerts will feature leading drummers in the music industry today, including Steve Gadd (Studio Legend), Stanton Moore (Galactic), Zoro (Lenny Kravitz), Billy Kilson (Chris Botti), Jason Bittner (Shadows Fall), Mike Mangini (Dream Theater), Richie Garcia (Sting), Cliff Almond (Michel Camilo), Tom Brechtlein (Al Di Meola), Marvin “Smitty” Smith (Tonight Show Band) and Austin’s own Todd Sucherman (Styx) to name a few.
PASIC is also host to the International Drum & Percussion Expo held over three days. The expo will have on display the famous Neil Peart drumset used on his first four RUSH albums and tours from 1974 – 1977 including Fly By Night, Caress Of Steel, 2112, and All The World’s A Stage. Fans can pay $10 to $30 to play on or have their photo taken with the drum kit, with all proceeds benefiting the American Cancer Society
PASIC will be held at the Austin Convention Center in Austin, Texas from Wednesday, October 31 to Sunday, November 4, 2012. Registration for 1-Day and 4-Day badges are available through the Percussive Arts Society at pasic.org. Single session tickets, which allow entrance to any one event during the convention, may also be purchased on-site at the Austin Convention Center for any of the over 120 concerts, clinics, master classes or presentations. Single day wristbands for the International Drum & Percussion Expo and National Marching Festival are also available on-site and start at $20 each.
