The Mechanical Licensing Collective (The MLC) is a nonprofit organization designated by the U.S. Copyright Office pursuant to the historic Music Modernization Act of 2018. They focus on collecting your digital mechanical royalties. Anyone who is entitled to receive digital audio mechanical royalties in the United States will need to become a “Member” of The MLC. This includes music publishers and administrators; self-administered songwriters, composers, and lyricists.
