ARTIST DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

INNOVATION. INTENTION. INVESTMENT. IMPACT.

Designed by AMF and launched in 2017, the Artist Development Program (ADP) is a highly selective signature program that supports and advances the most talented independent artists in Austin. Now in its sixth year, the Artist Development Program is established as Austin’s most viable program for the discovery and development of emerging artists within the city’s music industry.

Investment

At AMF, the development of art and of those who create it takes center stage. Our work is driven by an everlasting love of all things Austin music, and core to fulfilling our mission is a long-standing commitment to meaningful investment. The Artist Development Program supports the viability, growth, and visibility for Austin’s musical talent through:

  • Tailored professional development & one-on-one mentoring
  • Real-time constructive feedback from industry experts
  • Personal interaction with repetitious engagement
  • Facilitation of meaningful connections & opportunity
  • Fostering peer-to-peer collaboration & support
  • Product & revenue development

ADP ‘ATX GEN NEXT’ ALBUMS

The ‘AMF Presents: ATX Gen Next’ compilation albums are recorded, mixed, and mastered exclusively by AMF through the Artist Development Program at the world-renowned Bubble Recording Studio right here in Austin, TX. The album project is helmed by GRAMMY-nominated Producer, Chris “Frenchie” Smith, and ADP Program Lead, Einar Pedersen, and features new and original music by each artist.

Each year, the compilation albums are pressed on limited-run 12” vinyl, offering the ADP artists a tangible product completed during the program and sole ownership of their single masters. All three volumes of the ‘ATX Gen Next’ albums are available for download on Bandcamp.

Innovative, Impact-Driven Model

AMF is the only non-profit arts organization in Austin that provides the opportunity for a select group of local independent artists to participate in intensive, music business training in the areas of strategic career planning, finance management, songwriting, and product development, recording, marketing, publishing, and licensing, touring and revenue generation.

Guided by AMF’s core faculty of mentors, ADP participants work one-on-one and in peer-to-peer sessions to define, develop, and execute their creative and professional strategies. The result of this endeavor: a better prepared and informed class of music professionals who, upon graduation, are armed with the business acumen, tools, and connections needed to navigate the music industry and further advance their careers.
