EINAR PEDERSEN, RESIDENT ARTIST CONSULTANT
From the Hole in the Wall to Wembley Stadium, and from Capzeyez to SNL; Austin Music Foundation’s Resident Artist Consultant Einar Pedersen has first-hand experience of achievement and failure at every level of the music industry as an artist and performer. The late 80’s, 90’s and early 00’s saw interest culminate into major label development, publishing, and record deals with The Awful Truth and Goudie; as well as being part of the early careers of Kacy Crowley, Jeff Klein, and other young Austin acts of the time. From there, a move to LA and a switch to hired-gun became different side projects with members of Tool, Weezer, and QOTSA to name a few; and tours around the world with major artists like Kelly Clarkson (10 years), Reba McIntire, and The Fray (currently) among others.
This experience provides the unique ability to personally relate to every artist who comes through the doors at AMF. In addition to consultations, Einar (along with Johnny Goudie and Alex Vallejo) leads the AMF Artist Development Program (ADP). This ever-evolving program puts a selective group of artists through practical application of music biz practices, centered around the creation and release of a compilation album of each year’s participants. All of this has become energizing and fulfilling perks of Einar’s return to Austin.
